Two of the Best Parks

Carmichael boasts two really great parks.  The first is the 38-acre Carmichael Park.  It has 5 ballfields, 6 tennis courts, and a 9-hole disc golf course.  It also has a farmer’s market that is open year-round.  Carmichael takes the performing arts seriously – this park also contains the Daniel Bishop Memorial Pavilion for the Performing Arts

Ancil Hoffman Park is the second park we want to visit – it is astonishingly big at 396 acres.  In a place this big you can be sure to see many species of wild animals including wild turkey and coyotes. If you are in the mood for more education, this park has reconstructed homes of the Maidu Native Americans where you can learn more about their culture and way of life. See here for information about Rio Linda, CA:  The Place of Parks and Seeds.

More Parks

The parks go on and on. Carmichael is home to the 32-mile long American River Parkway that runs along the American River.  There are many smaller parks all along the Parkway and several have places where you can launch your boat.
