Close enough for commuting, Elverta, CA, is only 9 miles outside of Sacramento.  It is southwest of Roseville and close to the Sacramento International Airport.  The Airport is only 9 miles away and takes about 16 minutes to drive there.

Elverta, CA, was named after Elverta Dike.  Her husband donated property to a local church in Elverta.  Originally part of the Rancho Del Paso Mexican land grant of 1844, Elverta was later bought out by a fruit company from Minneapolis. Information can be found here.

Gibson Ranch Park sits on 325 acres in Elverta, CA.  It’s a great place for outdoor fun.  There are miles of hiking trails and live concerts to listen to.  The kids will love petting all the different kinds of farm animals from chickens to goats.  Parents can sit back and take in many scenic views while they are fishing in the pond and in the lake.  Nothing beats the look on the face of a little girl when she gets to go on her first horseback ride.  If you have your own horse, Gibson Ranch Park also offers horse boarding at reasonable prices.
